Two posts in a single day, this must be a new achievement for me. Calm yourselves though, this promises to be a short entry, stemming only from my need to express... well... confusion.
Be forewarned, what I am about to say might be mildly offensive to some. Remember, this is just me ranting! Ahem, moving on...
O.o
As I have mentioned before, I am currently working at MOE, and as it happens, today's job scope includes recording the feedback given by some english language scholars, regarding an attachment programme. Yet this simple task caused me to raise my eyebrows in surprise more than once. I do not profess to possess perfect english, and I know that people generally do not speak flawlessly, but these people are english scholars. So can somebody tell me why their written feedback is riddled with grammatical and spelling errors? I have perhaps about the most erroneous spelling there is, so the fact that I can catch the errors is saying something. And the grammar, well, I refuse to even get started on that.
Okay, at this point I recognize that I am beginning to sound somewhat like an "english snob", as my mum so eloquently put it. I dont mean to judge, it's just me being... confused is all. I guess it makes sense that a person would not put that much thought into filling a feedback form.. but still. I dont know, i guess i expected to be awed by their proficiency in english (good writing is always a joy to read), and i suppose i was by quite a few of the respondents. It was just those few that grated on my nerves. Am i being too judgmental? I guess so. Oh well. I suppose this post ends here.

Hello pleasant-folk! As fate would have it, I have returned with yet another tirade of words. Three blog-posts in a row, this is becoming somewhat of a regular habit for me now, isn't it. Oh well, no issue there I suppose. In any case, I just felt like communicating to you the immense joy that I feel right now. Please note that joy in this instance is not to be confused with happiness. Happiness is rather, in my opinion, superficial and you know, light. Joy on the other hand is something that I would say is buried much deeper, and is also much more prevalent. To me, joy can exist even in the absence of happiness. I know this concept sounds strange, but it is what I believe.
such a sweet little pony eh?
So then, the question arises, what is this thing that is capable of bringing me joy? Well, the answer has to be my beautiful sanctuary, Riders Lodge. It is a place that i feel safe, feel contented, feel indisputably happy, no, joyful. On a queer level, whilst I am there, I feel as though all is right in the world, and that nothing horrid could possibly touch me. It really is my idea of paradise.
What spurred this blogpost, i suppose, would be the fact that I was again granted the immense pleasure of taking a short day-trip to Riders Lodge on Saturday. It was a wonderful day, the unforgiving heat of the sun blocked out by soft, greying clouds, a soft breeze in the air, and the smell of horse all around. Moreover, we were fortunate enough to not have it rain. Yet the apogee of my time spent there had to be when I was able to ride the horses, and not only that, but I got to care for them as if they were my own for those few short hours. The sheer experience of riding upon such a powerful creature is just so humbling and so awe-inspiring. I mean, that this majestic and beautiful creature would adhere to my commands when it has the power to easily defy, and even destroy me, that truly is something to behold, and I treasured every moment of it. Wow.
Leaving Riders Lodge was, as usual, a heart-wrenching affair. I hated leaving the place that brought me such immense joy and peace that no other place could possibly hope to offer.
Oh well, even now as I think of my sanctuary in an odd mix of melancholy and wistfulness, I cannot help but smile with the knowledge that I will return there soon. One way or another, I will be returning soon.

In Silent Reverie

Hello again. (:

So, after a rather busy day at work, i finally managed to find a couple of minutes to myself to just about do as i please. Essentially, for the past 8 hours, minus half an hour for lunch, i have been rigorously dealing with archiving documents, arranging them in chronological order and filing them away. Not the most fun in the entire world, but at least i was doing something, which is more than can be said for the days i had spent at home doing a grand total of nothing. I am extremely fatigued now though, i must say that i nodded off once or twice here in the office, even taking a short nap on the sofa on level two for a while. whoops.
Anyway, so here i sit, listening to my itunes on a ridiculously low volume so that i would be able to hear anyone in the office holler for my assistance, in the relative silence of the MOE office, save the low hum of the printer and the tap-tap sounds of people typing on their keyboards, and just typing the first things that come to mind onto my blog. Honestly, i dont have a real motivation for today's post other than wanting something other than work  to do. I guess it's just that recurrent need to go against the system.
So, I'm quite pleased. The week has come to a close and, by golly, i've earned more than a hundred dollars. Really, making money does feel really awesome. The knowledge that my little bank account is slowly filling with money resulting from my personal toil is actually oddly satisfying. Like my hard work is coming to fruition. Yeah, so in essence, i'm pretty pleased with how this is going, even if it did require me to do a ridiculous, and i speculate unhealthy, amount of filing, as well as attain a papercut or two. At least i got something out of it.
On a brighter note, i will be heading back down to Riders Lodge, Johore tomorrow. I'm rather excited for that, even if the trip is only a day trip, and i will be spending at most two or so hours at the place. Riders Lodge is undoubtedly my favorite place in the vicinity of Singapore, perhaps even beyond that, and any time that i can get to spend there is deemed extremely invaluable. So yes, i am pumped for my trip. Furthermore, it would prove to be good respite from work, even if it does involve physical exercise (insert a grimace here). Still, it is oddly relaxing, in an ache-inducing, sweaty kind of way, and is likely the only form of exercise, bar swimming, that i actually enjoy. On that note, Riders Lodge, here i come. (:
So yes, this about concludes all i have to say for the day. Perhaps i shall have more to ramble on about when i return from Riders Lodge.
Until then,

Listening to the world around me,

Out of the Shadows...

out of the shadows
...Comes me. Hello all, i am back once again, after a crazy long hiatus, much to the disapprobation of my dear friend, Sherlyn. It seems that the fallacy, ad nauseum, while fallacious by nature, really does seem to work. Her repeated reminders to update my blog have finally sunk home and so, now, here i sit before my computer in the middle of a chilly Ministry office, right outside the directer's office at that, typing my thoughts into this box here. Clever and appropriate time no? I thought so too. Haha. But I digress, what i really meant to say in this, formally succinct, introductory paragraph was: Hello, I have returned from the shadows of oblivion, in what i hope will be a blaze of glory. Wow. I feel like gagging a little at the melodrama. Oh well, I guess it cannot be helped.

So, let me see. What excuse shall I give for my absence from the world of blogging since the previous post. Should i chalk it all up to the lack of time? What about to the lack of interesting events transpiring, thereby leaving me nothing to post? Neither I am afraid, as neither is true. Fact of the matter is, I am just plain lazy. And oddly proud of it too. At least I'm back now, that's all that matters right?

To recap briefly the events since the previous post, there was Prom Night, my trip to Phuket, my trip to Riders Lodge, and now, currently, my stint at MOE doing temp work. Yes, but enough of the boring stuff, surely in my long absence, something more intriguing must have happened.

Well, i guess one could say that. Some might know that I actually plan to complete a comic book over the course of the break between Junior College and University. While i have not progressed past a single page in terms of actual drawing, I do have a story line planned out in my head. Hopefully, it will come to fruition. Suffice to say, the story involves a girl who is colour blind. oooohhhh...
I guess i shall reveal more details in due course.

Till then though, i suppose now, regrettably (or not) i ought to end this post, and quit wasting my time here at my job. Until next time then, my pretties!

Still breathing (i promise)
