Well, not now exactly... still got a couple of hours left to go before i leave for my annual Church Camp. It's quite a pity this year really, because as it happens, the day that we're leaving is the day of my boyfriend's and I's one year anniversary. It's been a day I'd been looking forward to for forever, but meh. I guess it was not to be. It seems this year is a year most miserable for the two of us... missing our first valentines day as a couple due to the army, missing our first anniversary because of my having to go overseas... I hate how so many factors have been working against us as of late, but i suppose all we can do really is power through them. 
Maybe i'll go listen to some Starkid to cheer myself up. That always seems to work.
Anyways, this post was really just to say a goodbye... for a while... likely a very short while considering there will indeed be internet access over there in malaysia. Haha. I suppose i just wanted an excuse to make some noise. so make noise i did. haha.
Anyways, before i leave all of you, here's a drawing i did in pen! haha. I'm particularly proud of myself because there was no pencilled guidance or anything in drawing it. heehee. enjoy!

Is it just me or does it seem like near every post that i do is related to art? Haha. Oh well, I suppose given who the author of the blog is, it cannot be helped. I can only hope that I do not bore all of you. :) 
Anyway, today's blog post is dedicated to a fanfiction that i had read some time ago. In it, Harry seems to have contracted leukemia, and he has to stay with Snape as he recuperates. It's a beautiful story about budding trust, mentorship and healing. It was so incredibly well written, and the descriptions of the cancer so stark and vivid... wow. It was a great fanfiction, and I'm unbelievably happy to have stumbled upon it. 
So I did some fanart for it. Enjoy!

In here, Snape is comforting Harry after... i dunno, a bad chemo session, a scary dream, something like that. There are many scenes like this in the story.

Mousehunt...

No, friends, I do not refer to the game on facebook, though I must say that that was the main source of inspiration for this game. As some of you may know, myself and two of my friends have been tasked to plan the games for our upcoming church camp. Needless to say, it was a frantic rush of trying to put together an adequate proposal, as well as collecting our thoughts and hopefully coming up with something that would at least halfway entertain the members of the congregation. One of the games that we came up with is called the Ultimate Mousehunt. It is largely based off of the facebook game, but with it's own little twist of course. I suppose you could say that it is something akin to a modified scavenger hunt of sorts, one that encompasses a variety of obstacles to attaining the top prize, including tricky (hopefully) questions, odd and sometimes embarrassing tasks, and annoyingly ambiguous clues. Brilliant isn't it?

So anyway, to bring this idea of a mousehunt into reality, we had to create the mice for the people to hunt, a task that fell to me, yay! haha. So here I present to you, the mice for the mousehunt!

Today, sitting alone in my room whilst everyone else in the house is practically asleep, I cannot help but feel a sense of such immense joy. Seriously, i can practically feel it bubbling up my throat, infusing with every nerve in my body and forcing a happy, sentimental smile upon my face. It's the kind of feeling where you realize that so many things in the world are beautiful, and even if it's not everything, there are those few special ones that make everything just perfectly worth while.
For me, that moment of realization happened just a short while ago.
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our one year anniversary today. True, today is not the day itself, that would be on the 9th of June, but we figured since we'd have all day today, we might as well utilise it. So celebrate we did. We went to Kushinbo for lunch and had a brilliant meal. Truly, up till now, I'm still feeling absolutely stuffed from that sumptuous spread. After that, the two of us went on somewhat of a shopping spree. This I found to be immensely enjoyable. I don't know,  personally, I have never found shopping to be particularly enjoyable... Yet today as the two of us walked hand in hand through a huge multitude of shops, I felt this foreign sense of excitement at the thought of shopping! It was strange to say the least, but definitely not unwelcome. I am also pleased to say that I managed to secure quite a few beautiful purchases at unbelievably satisfying costs. :) Thanks babe for that!
But the highlight of the day was definitely what came after. Jared dragged me around Bishan park, looking in earnest for a particular location. My curiosity was definitely piqued, what could he have in store for me? So I followed along. Eventually, we came to one of those street soccer courts, empty and dark due to the time. He instructed me to wait at a side bench, which i gladly did, still undeniably curious mind you. With that, he proceeded inside the court, obscured from my view. Now, if you know me, you'd know that I am hardly one to be able to sit still and wait, especially when something that I really want to know about is going on. Yet I managed. Eventually, he completed what he was doing and he called me in. 
It really was beautiful.

Candles, lit in a warm, orange glow, sparkling in a spectacular pattern on the ground. In the darkened court, they really did seem to have an other-worldly quality to them. And the words they spelt out on the ground? To say I was touched would have been a gross understatement. 
I felt a warmth in my heart, blossoming from deep within, mirrored by the warmth of the candlelights flickering before us. It was so perfect. I honestly could not ask for more.


sweetie... today was truly a fairy tale, and I thank you for being my wonderful knight in shining armor. you are perfect. Thank you for this amazing surprise. Thank you. :)
